C. M. Kushins is the author of Nothing’s Bad Luck: The Lives of Warren Zevon (2019), Beast: John Bonham and the Rise of Led Zeppelin (2021), and Cooler Than Cool: The Life and Work of Elmore Leonard (2025). He has been a freelance journalist for over twenty years and his work has appeared in High Times and The Daily Beast, among others. His love of esoteric history began with both Tibetan and Zen Buddhism, as well as Western Hermeticism, which he lectured on in Berlin.

Diana Serhal is the proud co-owner of Modern Occultist Media. A published journalist and Holocaust educator for nearly a decade, Serhal has worked and taught in her native Hungary, Amsterdam, Berlin, and the United States. Her fascination with the esoteric and its history practice began in her teens, with a love of spirituality and alchemy, and, in her twenties, studied Tibetan Reiki, energy-healing, meditation and practicing different forms of manifestation in Budapest.If you are reading this, perhaps, you are one yourself.

Lovers and purveyors of all-things esoteric will find a home here—be it Wicca, Paganism, Gnosticism, New Thought, or Esoteric A.I.—all presented through original works by noted scholars and practitioners of various occult philosophies, as well as interviews with some of today’s leading esoteric authors and artists.
